Apartments that are rented out to students often have
little or no protection against burglars. The front doors are not always reinforced and in many cases windows and porches
are exposed without security bars.
Landlords have little interest in paying for such
protection and will certainly not pay for the installation of an alarm system. It's
a financial burden for students to pay out for system thay might only use for one school year and then have to remove
or resell it.
The result is the large number of break-ins at Student
flats where latops and other expensive electronic items are targetted.
At EDS we decided to take a top of the line Wireless
alarm system and produce a package designed for student use at a student price with the built-in provision to return
it under a Buy Back scheme at the end of the year or at the end of 2 or 3 years.
The student package:

- Built-in 105dB siren
- Battery backup in case of power outage

to call 3 phone numbers
- Wireless front door magnet sensor

- Commander wireless remote control with individual
personal codes.

Terms and Conditions:
The alarms offered within the Student Alarm
package may be new systems or ones that have been reconditioned and carry an as-new warranty.
Don't forget that an alarm system is just one of
the many precautions you should take to safeguard your property. It is not a replacement for household insurance.
Don't forget to lock all doors when at home and when out of the apartment. Don't give out keys and alarm codes to
anyone and everyone.
Payment can be in cash or by personal cheque. In
the case of cheque payment, the cheque will need a week to clear before installation. For this reason we recommend
contacting our office and arranging payment in good time. This can be done by mail.
EDS will uninstall and buy back the system at the
end of the University year on condition that it is in good condition apart from fair wear and tear.
Notice must be given by fax or email before the
end of July and the uninstallation must take place before the end of August.
A refund cheque will be available for collection
from our office within a week or earlier of the unistallation. Refunds can also be made by bank transfer if requested in writing.
If you wish to keep the system for the another year
or more and want to stay within the EDS buy back scheme, you must notify us before the end of July. You can arrange a
further year's warranty at a deeply discounted price (see table above) Warranty's must be contiguous. In other
words, we cannot offer warranty for a third year if you did not take out warranty for the second year.
Please bear in mind that installing the alarm will
require drilling holes in the apartment's walls and affixing sensors using wall plugs or self-adhesive tape.
These will leave marks upon removal. Fixing
or decorating the walls is not included in the EDS installation or uninstallation process!
